HomeGardaThe best beaches of Garda

Homonym of its lake, Garda is a town overlooking the Benaco on the Venetian shore. It is located in the province of Verona and is very popular for its beautiful beaches.
They are close to Garda, but also in the surrounding area and it is always worth taking a stroll to visit them…

The Bay of the Sirens

If you park your car near the Baia delle Sirene Beach Park (Punta San Vigilio), you can reach the cove famous for its beauty.

This corner of paradise, Spiaggia delle Sirene, is part of a park with an area for diving and sunbathing on Lake Garda. The water is crystal clear, the trees and olive trees can protect you by giving you a little more shade (and believe me, I needed it several times during last August!) And the fact that it is a bay makes the atmosphere almost exclusive.

You can enter the beach with an entrance ticket and inside you can rent sunbeds and deck chairs to enjoy the lake, relax and have a drink at the bar. Here you will find various services including showers and private cabins, mini-club and play area for children, in addition in the evening a light DJ set is also organized which makes the environment ideal for a happy hour directly on the lake.

La Cavalla Beach

There are several localities in the surroundings, and one of the most famous beaches of Garda is La Cavalla. Ideal for those who are in the town, as it is very close to the town and can be reached from the pedestrian promenade between Garda and Bardolino.

The beach is free and you can also find a bar that “accompanies it”. Like any beach in Garda, it is very crowded during the summer, and especially on weekends. In any case, however, I have found that the times I have been there I have always managed to find a place.

Even if it is a free beach, you can still rent sunbeds and umbrellas to increase the relaxation and comfort of the day.

Parking question: it should be emphasized that if you arrive by car, you will find a large parking lot a few meters away, obviously for a fee.

The naturist beach

Near Punta San Vigilio there is also a nudist beach, a naturist oasis where you can relax in an Eden-like environment. I remind you, however, that on Lake Garda it is forbidden to undress to sunbathe and, very often, the fighters pass by here to “detach” the fines.

In any case, this beach is only 500 meters from the Baia delle Sirene, and can be reached by following the path that is located before the “Torri del Benaco” sign on the state road. The beach stands out for its splendid landscape, one of the most beautiful bays of Garda: for this reason it is often crowded, also for its characteristic of naturist, nudist and gay-friendly beach on Lake Garda.

Lido Brancolino

Further north than the promontory of Baia delle Sirene, and before the town of Torri del Benaco, there is an ideal beach for those who want an oasis of peace. Lido Brancolino can be reached from the Garda road by going down steep stairs.

The beach is pebbly and equipped with deck chairs and showers, ideal for a bit of tranquility, but it is good to remember that the entrance is subject to charges and the shaded areas are few. Inside you will find a bar service and a small car park – you may need it as it is located about 1 kilometer from Punta San Vigilio.

Finally, it is also known for the fact that it is a meeting point for young people, and during the evening very often there are various events (at least in the pre-Covid years) and themed dinners, right at the Lido restaurant.
