The best beaches of the Garda Lake

Home Travel Resources The best beaches of the Garda Lake

Bathing, sunbathing, diving, enjoying an ice cream or a happy hour… a stay on Lake Garda in the summer means all of these activities. Many tourists are attracted by the opportunity to experience the beauty of these places. In fact millions of people visit the shores of Lake Garda and its fabulous beaches.

Jamaican Beach – Sirmione

Among the many Garda beaches that welcome you, one of the most famous is certainly the beach of Sirmione, called Jamaica by the local people. A place that until few years ago was a destination almost reserved for the inhabitants of the place, reachable only on foot through the center of Sirmione, and which now it’s very famous thanks to the social media.

This beach, according to many, is reminiscent of tropical atmospheres and landscapes. The white stones emerge from the waters in a unique panorama, with a splendid view of both the lake and the Catullo Caves behind, the ruins of an ancient Roman villa. A kiosk awaits those who want to refresh themselves and enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in Garda. What’s better?

Pisenze beach and Baia Bianca beach – Manerba

This coast of the Brescia side was not well known until a few years ago, and for many people from Lake Garda it represented a quiet and not too frequented naturalistic beach with clear waters. Even this location, however, is now quite popular thanks to the success gained on the social networks world being very animated in the summer also because its pier allows you to enjoy the view and dive into the lake.

Spiaggia della Baia

You can get to Pisenze beach by car until the parking and then on foot, crossing one of the two possible narrow streets. For refreshment there is a restaurant not far away, even if it is a perfect beach for a picnic near the lake.

Baia Bianca beach is another beautiful place where to relax in Manerba del Garda. Like Sirmione’s Jamaica beach, the Baia Bianca beach seems to evoke the beauty of tropical beaches, but this time in an almost real sense, being covered with fine sand imported… from the Caribbean! A suggestive oasis, which allows you to relax and enjoy the sun. In the evening the establishment is also a meeting place for an aperitif for those on holiday in Manerba.

The Golden beach – Desenzano sul Garda

Located on the east coast of Garda Lake there is this Golden Beach in Desenzano del Garda, the perfect place, immerged into the nature, where you can relax during the day and have fun during the night. This is a mix of a disco and a bathing establishment, very popular here also thanks to the magnificent view of Lake Garda, which can be enjoyed from the restaurant terrace.

Il Lido dei Limoni – Gargnano

A well-equipped beach, a free beach where you can use chairs, sun beds, umbrellas and rent a pedal boat to go into the lake. There are toilets and showers, and parking nearby.

Arriving at Lido dei Limoni the kiosk stands out, very popular for breakfasts, aperitifs, lunches; in the evening, however, the historic bar becomes a meeting place for live musical evenings. This beach is certainly one of the best for those looking for a relaxing environment but, however, well animated from morning to evening.

Il Lido di Fasano – Gardone Riviera

Continuing in the upper-east Garda, this beach reserves a gravel carpet, it is not far from the center of the village and very popular during the summer. Also know for the fact that it’s free with an equipped beach, and the unique Blue Flag beach in Garda area, that recognize the clarity of the water.

There is a kiosk but also a beach volleyball court, showers and a nearby rowing club. It has free parking nearby and, for all these reasons, Lido di Fasano is considered one of the best beaches on Lake Garda.

Fonte Torrente San Giovanni beach – Limone sul Garda

Always going up to the west coast, you arrive in Limone sul Garda where there is the local Limone beach, best known for its beauty. One of the most renowned beaches of Lake Garda from a naturalistic point of view, this beach is small but it has a very good panorama.

Studded with stones, it also has a nearby surf school and a beach volleyball court for those who want to play sports. The coast, also close to Cola beach, is connected with a lakeside promenade, where there are plenty of bars, kiosks and also an area for picnics.

La spiaggia dei Pini – Riva del Garda

In the north of the Garda Lake there is this Pini Beach located in Riva del Garda, also known to tourists as the Porfina or Purfina beach. The pebble shore alternates with the green areas, creating a relaxing beach landscape, frequented mainly by young people and surfers (it is an area dedicated to this sport).

Nearby there is a campsite and a playground with sandpit, swimming pool and slide. On the beach there are, in addition to services and showers, various facilities for renting chairs, sun loungers, umbrellas.

The beach of the Lizards – Torbole

It is a small coast known to those looking for beaches with marked natural characteristics, suggestive for its position and loved by sportsmen who practice climbing on its walls (climbing). The escarpment of this beach, in fact, descends overhanging the waters, giving breathtaking views and unforgettable emotions to those who climb it.

Obviously, you can also go down via stairs, and enjoy a beach nestled between the mountains and the lake, which gives a feeling of exclusivity to those who live it, both for a naturalistic excursion, and to enjoy a unique view.

La Cavalla beach – Garda

In the east coast there is the little town of Garda that has a very beautiful beach very near to the center, with pebbled shores and with one of the clearest waters of the Lake.

An ideal shore for those who love walking on the lakefront, and making a relaxing stop between Garda and Bardolino, in a very popular coast. It is not so long but is convenient for stopping with children or for those who want to rest in the sun; it is a free beach with sunbeds, bars, and a parking lot nearby.

The Quercia beach – Lazise

Continuing on the east side of the Garda you can reach Lazise, a small town that offers this beach within a camping, ideal to adults and children. On this sandy beach, one of the largest of the Garda Lake, the panorama and atmosphere are enchanting also thanks to the centuries-old plants (oaks, poplars, acacias, mulberries, lime trees, olive trees, etc.) which refresh you with their shade during the hottest hours during the summer time. The park with trees and vegetation runs for about 20 hectares, and the beach takes its name from an oak tree over 400 years old, one of the oldest in Italy!

We are arrived at the end of this article and the best beaches on Lake Garda seem to be many… you just need to visit them to determine which is your favorite.
