The Giant Bench, also known as Big Bench, has arrived at Lake Garda as well, a future and already present tourist attraction that you can enjoy to “strengthen” and give that extra touch of spectacle to your selfie and your panorama.
The giant benches, an idea of Chris Bangle, represent a symbol of the beauty of landscapes and are usually located in places of enviable panoramic beauty. Personally, I have already had the pleasure of taking a photograph with the Big Bench, this time in the Lake Iseo area, and finding it also on Lake Garda can only make me happy and I am sure you will appreciate it too.
This new attraction was inaugurated on Sunday, June 21st and has been promoted in all local newspapers since then.
How to reach the Giant Bench in San Felice
The only giant bench is located on Lake Garda, more precisely in San Felice del Benaco, a small village near Salò.
The San Felice Big Bench is more than two meters high and four meters wide, it is located in the large park near Palazzo Cominelli in Cisano di San Felice. It is easily reached by car, parking (for free) near the park and a very particular local church, and then reaching the bench on foot by crossing a park surrounded by beautiful olive trees.
After a few steps, following the yellow ribbons scattered on the branches of the trees along the path, you will see the large yellow bench and the beauty of Lake Garda in front of you, a beautiful natural picture that highlights the Gulf of Salò!
Of course, the bench is “accessible” at any time of the day, seven days a week. In short, the San Felice giant bench on Lake Garda is absolutely always open and visitable.
Curiosities about the Big Bench
The particularity of these giant benches, which are located in symbolically very suggestive places, is that they can leave you a tangible memory, as each new bench has a personalized stamp that is released on the spot or nearby.
What is it for? For tourists and enthusiasts of new discoveries, it is a beautiful idea because you can get a passport (if you don’t already have one) dedicated to the visit of these benches around Italy and collect all the stamps! To date, there are 101 giant benches on the territory of our peninsula and to get the stamp of the San Felice giant bench you will have to go to the nearby Hotel San Fils or Cantina Marsadri in Puegnano.
This is the beauty of the first giant bench on Lake Garda. A discovery that is definitely worth trying if you are in the area!
